adidas Revive the FINAL AZX With a Made in Germany ZX 8000 ‘JC & MT’

The story is one of the great long-running sagas in sneaker history, and for 2026 the Three Stripes are digging deep into the archives to bring something truly special back to the surface. Enter the adidas Made in Germany ‘JC & MT’ – a meticulous, heritage-driven release that nods to the architects who helped shape the ZX universe in the first place.
This pair draws its DNA from the legendary FINAL AZX, a concept sneaker originally created as the closing chapter of adidas’ first AZX series. Never intended for retail, the FINAL AZX became a kind of myth among collectors – a symbol of technical ambition, respect for craft, and the obsessive detail that defined the golden era of ZX. Now, that story continues with a near 1:1 revival, rebuilt with modern precision but unwavering respect for the original blueprint.
The release unfolds across two distinct colourways, each serving a different role in the story. The yellow pair is a near-identical remake of the legendary FINAL AZX, and alongside it sits a blue palette inspired by the iconic ZX 8000 ‘Aqua’, reinforcing the classic ZX design language through a more familiar heritage lens.
Produced in Germany, both pairs showcase premium materials, crisp tooling and the unmistakable ZX 8000 silhouette – from the layered upper to the stabilising heel counter and sculpted midsole. It’s a reminder of how far ahead the ZX line was – and still is.
The adidas ZX 8000 Made in Germany ‘JC & MT’ will release via an exclusive pre-launch at Overkill on January 17, 2026, with any remaining pairs available online from January 18. Both colourways retail for €150 and are expected to be extremely limited.
