Walk Kyoto, Sip Kyoto: The Billy's x size? x adidas 'Japan City Series' Hits All the Right Notes

Tokyo and its cultural cousin Kyoto (named after the Chinese word for capital city, 'jingdu') have long been muses for sneaker releases, shaping everything from that , to the from , to trusty . Now, are heading into the mix, teaming with and to give the a makeover in two fresh colourways.
Drawing on Hana no Miyako's sultry jazz clubs, the first offering from the UK retailer sees the Tobacco's upper drenched in brown and muted navy, with neon green and pink accents. Meanwhile, the second pair – courtesy of Billy's – takes a calmer approach, layering soft green leather with fuzzy suede overlays akin to the city’s tea houses and gardens. Tonal stitching and embroidered Japanese characters above the Three Stripes spell out 'Kyoto', adding texture and context, while clean brown midsoles ground both designs.
The Tobacco has long sat as an under-the-radar classic: casual enough for daily wear, subtle enough for details to shine, yet historically rooted in adidas’ early lifestyle silhouettes. Launched in 1972, the original colourways were inspired by the various shades of a tobacco leaf, informing its name.
Enjoy a closer look at the colab above. Billy’s will drop their stock through a pre-order starting November 15, ahead of the full launch on November 21.
