A Fresh Take on Craft: Fidan Novruzova and ASICS Rework the GEL-Cumulus 16

and the namesake label of Moldovan designer Fidan Novruzova are back at it with a fresh entry in the Crafts for Mind series – and yes gang, this one’s something else.

Built around the GEL-Cumulus 16, the project blends the Japanese label’s precision-led craftsmanship with Novruzova’s sculptural touch, resulting in 100 handmade pairs that sit somewhere between footwear and art.

Founded in 2020, label FIDAN NOVRUZOVA rework classic shapes with a smart, sculptural touch, finding a sweet spot between handmade craft and modern design. For the GEL-Cumulus 16's part, recent updates from and Aussie label have placed it firmly back in the spotlight.

Utilising the same premium leather found in FIDAN NOVRUZOVA collections, the design flips expectations with a folded square tongue and oversized leather tassel – a detail that half hides the laces with its drape, and half steals the show.

The colab also carries a deeper meaning. A portion of proceeds will go to the Fondation the Pour la Recherche sur l’Endométriose, a body dedicated to funding research into endometriosis.
