Keep Absolutely Still: Doublet Turn ASICS' GEL-QUANTUM 360 into T-Rex Terror

Boom. What was that? Boom. Concentric circles ripple in your glass of water. Boom. There comes the roar – it's Tyrannosaurus Rex, and she's thumping right the hell for you in the form of colab.
There's still a few moments for a history lesson before she closes the gap, so crouch down and buckle up. In 2024, Masayuki Ino’s Japanese streetwear label Doublet applied their ingenious imaginations to the , inspired by the brand's signature cardboard box packaging. Its low-key tonal brown was accentuated with busy branding on the upper and latticed details, and the box was printed with a true-to-size pattern of the shoe's panels which could be cut out and constructed into a model. The new 'Tyrannosaurus Rex' 360 also features a clever box, but the shoe itself has been remixed in a way that solidifies Doublet's playful genius.
It looks like the label's inspiration started with the model's segmented sole, which is hit with crisp white to mimic T-Rex teeth, while the midsole's blood-red sheen lands as the dinosaur's gums. The upper features a one-piece, full-graphic panel depicting the animal's fearsome head, complete with nostrils on the toe box, a creepy little eye at both medial and lateral quarters, and a convincingly reptilian skin-print. Press the soles of the shoes together and you've got yourself a complete apex predator on-foot.
The packaging is another stroke of brilliance, decked out as a dino head whose maw yawns wide when you open the box.
The Doublet x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 'Tyrannosaurus Rex' is out January 9, though so far it seems the tyrant will only be tearing up atmos Japan at this stage. Of course, we'll bring you any GR details as they (hopefully) arrive. Now, back to your terror-crouch – and remember to stay totally still!
