Converse Get Elated: Madhappy Reveal Their Chuck 70 Colab

What do an LA-based streetwear brand, and the feeling sneakerheads experience when getting new kicks, have in common? Madhappy. Founded in 2017, pride themselves on repping a community of optimists, and now they've injected those joyous vibes into a colab.
For their first partnership with , they've decided to take a simple approach in honouring the people who love to beat up their Chucks. Almost all of us are personally acquainted with someone who's been wearing the same pair of into the ground for over a decade, and has no plans to switch up their footwear. This admiration for the classic canvas high-top, regardless of whatever battle scars it bears, is exactly the dose of optimism that Madhappy carry with them in all their releases.
The colab takes form through three different colourways of the Chuck 70 – ‘Black’, ‘Vintage White’ and ‘Thunder Daze’. Each pair features pre-scuffed midsoles and toe caps to emphasize the ‘worn with love’ look, as well as a cut-out star on the lateral side of the canvas upper that reveals suede underneath. Suede also hits the vertical strip on the heel, while the traditional All Star badge on the medial side is turned into a felt patch. Madhappy branding is found on the insole, tongue, and a small tag on the foxing tape to complete the design.
The Madhappy x Converse Chuck 70 collection will be released on December 5 via Madhappy’s website and stores, as well as the Converse website and SNKRS app, for a retail price of $130 for each colourway.
