It’s Official: The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ Is Back… Kind Of

Back in 2020, resurrected the legendary ‘Infrared’ in OG form for the model’s mega Over the past few months, rumours have begun to circle hinting at the GOAT colourway returning to shelves, which has been confirmed – kind of – with the release of official imagery. We’re pleased to see that the colour-blocking is still intact for the 2026 version, but there are some changes that we’re less happy about.
The last time the ‘Infrared’ could be copped at your local, Nike went all out with the 1990s references. The box read ‘Air Max III’ and the colour was dubbed ‘Radiant Red’, which was the OG AM90’s original moniker and colourway name! This time around, Nike have done away with the 90s look, and are calling this 2026 drop the ‘Infrared 3M’. We’re a little upset that we aren’t getting the tried-and-true build, but the ‘Infrared’ has a long history of flips, reinterpretations and weird material substitutes – check ‘em all out
Traditionally, the Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ is made using a crisp white mesh base layer, which has now been swapped to a smooth reflective leather – but you can still expect subtle grey suede overlays, black leather mudguard and ‘Infrared’ in all the right places.
Sadly, there’s no OG Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ in 2026, so you’ll have to settle for the ‘Infrared 3M’. There’s no release date yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
