UP THERE Have a Secret: Another ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1

Melbourne-based boutique are an Australian institution that have dropped their pin on the global sneaker scene with an array of collaborations alongside , and . Many of their joint ventures are shaped by iconic Australiana references, while others look to Japan for influence.

Most recently, UP THERE hit ASICS' Kobe HQ to rework the up-and-coming model, dousing the uppers in ‘Irvine Green’ and ‘Gravel’. Following that initial drop – which sold out quick-smart – UP THERE have added another pair to the release calendar.

The second edition in the UP THERE x ASICS ‘Natsukashii’ lineup is dressed in a crisp white palette that puts construction directly in the spotlight. Similar to its predecessor, the shoe's base layer is built using greyed-out mesh, with glossy white overlays and lateral UP THERE tag on the heel. Interestingly, the lining has been lifted from the GEL-Kinsei 4, while the sole is retooled to replicate that of the GEL-Nimbus 17. For UP THERE’s version, expect two lacing options – one in white and another in grey – and a custom box in the boutique's iconic green.

UP THERE will be dropping their second ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 at their 69 Flinders Lane, Melbourne brick-and-mortar on October 24. For those that can’t make it in, there will be an online drop to follow on October 27 – but no wider release.
